Let it be said that my experience with Providence, Rhode Island has been tainted by the sub-hip liberal arts majors (fucking everywhere) that track bike through town--box wine strapped to their back--on route to quiz the cashier of a contending fair-trade/co-op coffee shop on their extensive yet increasingly poor taste in classical music... "Debussy?... Really?"
With that said, there was not a lack of overly didactic dioramas on abortion, vegan recipes, and democratic interventionist drawing exercises at The Green Lantern's WITHOUT YOU I AM NOTHING: Cultural Democracy from Providence and Chicago, which runs until April 25th.
